Ana Barral, architect

Ana BarralAna graduated in Architecture – Rehabilitation of Heritage at Lusíada University of Lisbon in 2001. While studying, she worked for several architecture practices in Greater Lisbon. In 2002, she joined the Technical Assistance Office of Tomar, where she worked for 2 years. She then worked for Atelier Albano Santos, in Abrantes and did some freelance work. In 2006, she started working with architect Pedro Costa and later both founded MODO Arquitectos Associados in 2009.

Pedro CostaPedro graduated in Architecture at the Lisbon School of Fine Arts – University of Lisbon in 1985, specialising in Conservation and Renovation of Architecture and Urban Centres. Between 1983 and 1986 he worked with P.R.O.J.E.T.A, Lda. Between 1986 and 2008, he joined the Technical Assistance Office of Abrantes. Later, in 2004 he co-founded and managed the studio Pedro & Cecília Costa - Arquitectura e Informação Geográfica, Lda. He founded MODO Arquitectos Associados in 2009 together with architect Ana Barral. He also founded the Abrantes Division of the Portuguese Institute of Architects (OAP), today known as the Centre Delegation of OAP, which he chairs.
